Smugglers Notch State Park, 6443 Mountain Road, Stowe, VT, 802-253-4014
Travel the same path as many Vermonters traveled in the 1800's smuggling goods to Canada illegally. This narrow pass through the mountains is home to many species of endangered plants and animals. This scenic byway to Canada with 1,000-foot cliff on either side, offers breathtaking views of rock outcroppings and cliffs between Mt. Mansfield and Spruce Peak. The park has 38 camping sites and lots of outdoor activities including rock climbing, biking, hiking and picnicking. Call for campsite reservations.
